Summer Birthdays

July is a busy month for birthdays and we enjoyed going to the parties. Jack turned 2. Ashley and I were pregnant at the same time. I loved sharing it with her. Jack is adorable and just maybe one day he and AR will get married. :-)
Mary Molloy turned 3. She was in Switzerland for two years, so this was her first birthday party in the US and it was wonderful. Mindy and Chris have the best backyard! AR's friend Catherine also turned two, but we were out of town for her party. I am sad we missed it.

Cheering for Daddy's Team

Ann Rogers, Uncle Chuck, and I went to watch Jim's team at a passing camp last week. She LOVED seeing her Daddy on the field. However, I had to keep her distracted so she wouldn't cry and run on the field for her Daddy. I was very thankful Uncle Chuck was there because he helped me keep her entertained!

We are so proud of Daddy

Cheering him on through the fence

Her new flip flops...look at those little chubby feet!!!

I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream!!!

Our old dog Caddy

It will soon be a year since Ann Rogers was bit by our dog Caddy. It was a very horrible experience, but we were blessed with the best outcome that could be expected. AR has healed beautifully and has just recently gotten over her fear of dogs.
We gave Caddy away to a friend of the family in Mississippi. Jim had mentioned several times that he wanted to go see her, but I never really wanted to go. However, while we were home for the 4th, he asked again if we could go see her. I finally decided after 11 months I could see her with out being a basket case. I cry easily! :-)
It was the BEST decision, because she is in such a loving home and they ADORE her. It was easy to see that she is well taken care of and very happy. I did shed a few tears at first, but it was a great visit. I think we will go back for sure again one day. I think she remembered us, but it was hard to tell. She did give us lots of kisses. I miss that dog so much, but still feel 100% that we did the right thing. We did not take AR with us and do not plan to ever take her if we go back and visit. That would not be right. She probably would not remember, but I don't want to take a chance. A year later, I still get sick to my stomach thinking about that day and how I could have prevented it. However, we have all healed from it and I now know that Caddy is in the right place.
