A sad sad Egg Bowl...but we still LOVE our Rebels!!!

What else is there to say about the Egg Bowl. We got whipped by MSU. It was a hard pill to swallow, but we are still Rebels. We are looking forward to cheering again for them in a bowl game. Back to back New Year's Day bowls is not too shabby and I am still thankful we have Coach Nutt! Hotty Toddy!

(p.s. You know you are football family when everyone is dressed in their gear and at halftime you go play football in the backyard. We are pathetic! )

Christmas Card Outtakes

Mom and I got AR dressed up to try and get our Christmas card picture. She actually did great and it didn't take that long to get one. I didn't want to post the actual one yet. I like for it to be a surprise. :-) I thought some of the outtakes were hilarious. She is a STINKER lately...I know it is only the beginning!

Thanksgiving Day

We did Thanksgiving a little different this year. Jim, AR, and I usually head to Greenwood the day before Thanksgiving and stay through the weekend. However, since his Dad has been sick plans were a little different. We were so glad that Jim's brotherh Carey and his family came to town for Thanksgiving. We had everyone over for breakfast at our house. I NEVER cook breakfast but was proud to pull off two different breakfast cassroles, grits, sausage and fruit. It was nice change to get stuffed on breakfast items instead of the traditional turkey day food. Jim stayed in town to visit with his family and that afternoon AR and I headed to Greenwood to spend the weekend.

We are so very thankful for the wonderful family we have on both sides!!!

We made it to Greenwood just in time for her to have 2 cookies for supper and play in the laundry basket.

AR's First College Football Game

I had always hoped that AR's first football game would be an Ole Miss game. However, Ole Miss is almost a 4hr trip and Auburn is a 1 1/2 hr. trip. So her Daddy won this battle and we went to AU homecoming. :-)

Uncle Bob and our friends Casey and Addison rode with us. Even though I am a Rebel through and through... I will admit that AR made a darn cute AU cheerleader! It was a beautiful day and AR enjoyed every minute of it. I think she enjoyed the food the most. Hotdog, cookie, chips, and frozen lemonade!!! I also "had" to buy $6 worth of beads. Football games are expensive! :-) We had a fun family day and I am sure there are many more days like this in our future. She will not make an Ole Miss football game this year, but next year she will be in red and blue!

Prayer Request

At the beginning of October, Jim's Dad (Papaw) had a very serious surgery to remove part of his pancreas to rule out cancer. THANKFULLY it was not cancer. However, he had major complications after the surgery and has been in ICU for 6 weeks. He has fought hard and made it through some very scary moments. He was doing really for a while. Breathing on his own, talking on the phone, watching t.v. and etc...However, he did have a setback this week. He started running fever due to an infection. His blood pressure was not stable and he went back on the breathing machine. The breathing machine still is so much better than the ventilator!!! I know that he is in God's hand and many many people are praying for his healing. After a rough start to this week, he seems to have stablized and stayed that way all day today. They will start weaning him back off the breathing machine soon. Please pray this bump in the road will be his last bump in the road and he can get out of ICU soon and work on getting back home!!!

AR misses her Papaw very much. I know that if she could go in that room, his spirits would be sky high. She does talk to him on the phone often. We also take her to the main lobby of the hospital. There is a camera in there and he can watch the lobby from his room. AR has been telling us that "Papaw has a boo boo and Papaw feel better"
