We are loving the baby pool!

Granddaddy filled a pool up forAnn Rogers in the back yard today. She loves splashing in the water. It looks like we will be spending many afternoons in the backyard this summer.

Fun at Nannee and Granddaddy's House

Memorial Day at Lake Martin

We went to Lake Martin for Memorial Day. Jim's parents were down there for the day on Sunday. The Notos met us down there on Sundayand brought Charlie with them and spent the night with us. We had a great time with them. They had to go back Monday morning so the Wallaces came and met us Monday for another fun day on the boat. I didn't get any pictures of their sweet children. Ann Rogers did great for the most part on the boat. We kept her in the shade most of the time and stuffed her with puffs! :-)
Ann Rogers trying to do Patty Cake on the boat.
She had fun driving the boat with papaw.
She loved playing with her friend Charlie. He is adorable!

The Lake, Memorial Day, and Mississippi

I have lots of pictures to post from this past weekend and some from this week. We went to the lake for Memorial Day with friends and Jim's family and had a great time. My parents came to visit Monday afternoon. I had a teacher work day on Tuesday and then Ann Rogers and I packed and rode back to MS with my parents for a few days.
Anyway...I thought I would tell you what was going on lately....not the anyone is stalking this blog or anything. :-) (ha ha) I will have some new pictures and posts sometime soon. I might have to wait until I get back home.
Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend. I am so sad to be missing the Sex and The City release tomorrow night. I am looking for a friend to go next week? Any takers??? :-)

Happy Early Birthday Lee Ann!

I have been meaning to post these for a week now. Last weekend our friend Paul threw a surprise party for his sweet wife Lee Ann. Jim's parents had AR for the night. Carrie and I thought it would be fun to try and drink as much wine or beer as we did before babies. We are both lightweights! We did end up having a lot of fun hanging out on Lee Ann's porch. Her official birthday is Monday. HAPPY BIRTHDAY LEE ANN! Hope you have a wonderful day.

Pretty as a Flower

This is a photo of a photo. I had to take one to see if you could see how cute one of her 6 month pictures turned out. One of my friends, Andrew at Lamb's Photography took this picture. I just fell in love with it. It reminds me of the flappers in the 1920's. Thanks to Nannee for buying us the watch me grow package!

We spent Mother's Day weekend in Orange Beach. We went with our friends the Alexanders. They have twins. Ann Rogers had fun with Lilly and Harris. We had a wonderful and relaxing weekend. AR loved the beach and we can't wait to go back in July. Also, Ann Rogers is 8 months old today! Wow...8 months goes by fast!!!

Lady Luck was not my friend!

Jim and I went to Tunica Saturday night to round out the birthday weekend with a night at the casino. We went with some friends from my hometown. It is Rich's birthday today and his wife Rosanne planned a surprise party in Tunica. I did not do a good job with my money. I usually play quarter slots and my money last all night. However, after a few drinks at dinner, I hit the $1 slots. I lost miserably. Jim lost too, but not much at all. The good news is we had a wonderful time and truly enjoyed the night out.
Hubby and I before he left for the night for the carribean stud table. That game is way too complicated for me.
Rosanne, Geney, and Shelia (my sister-in-law) are ready for the free drinks!

I am very blessed with the most wonderful family and friends. THANK YOU!

17 more days of school!

Today is just one of those days where I feel like I am not a good teacher. This year has been hard for me, because I am still trying to juggle being a mommy and a great teacher. It is very hard to give both jobs 100%. So of course I am going to try and be a mom at a 100%. :-) Family comes first with any job. A teacher's job never ends at 3:15. I use to have a bag full of work to take home each day, but I just can't do that anymore.
I am trying to squeeze everything in during the school day, but with just a 30 minute planning time there is no way. I try to rush home in the afternoons in order to get 3 hours with Ann Rogers, just 3 hours a day. That makes me very sad, but I know I have to work right now. Actually, I don't even know if I would be cut out to be a stay at home mom anyway. I REALLY admire those that do it!!!
However, I just wish there was an easier way to balance work and motherhood. Not to even mention the terrible wife and friend I have been lately. I feel so out of touch with everyone. Luckily Jim helps out all he can and has been very loving and undestanding.
I already feel better. I just needed to vent. I TRULY do realize how blessed I am and I thank God for all I have in my life. My family, friends, and health. I am just having one of those days. It will pass. I also know that most all moms experience what I am feeling too. That is why we are in the mom's club. The club has tough membership requirements, but yet so rewarding. :-) AR keeps me going each day because she is such a joy to come home too.
I think I am just upset because I am a crappy teacher this year because my students are not getting me at my best.
So...back to the title of the post...17 more days of school!!! I have a workshop for two weeks right when school gets out and then a 6 week break. Thank Goodness! What's up with "summer"....it gets shorter and shorter every year.
