One of the perks of being a teacher is belonging to the Teacher Retirement System. The TRS owns all of the Robert Trent Jones golf courses in AL. Teachers get a discount at every place. We don't golf, but it also means that you can get a discount at Ross Bridge Resort. Even though it is technically in town, you still feel like you are getting away when you go stay there. It is wonderful! My parents came to town for Memorial Day Weekend and we went to stay at Ross Bridge. We spent Sunday at the pool, ate dinner, and went to the pool again. The Wallaces live in the neighborhood next to the resort so they came and swam with us on Sunday. It is the perfect little getaway right here in Birmingham. We planned to spend Memorial Day at the pool too...until someone pooped and shut the pool down. FOR THE ENTIRE DAY! We were OK with it because we live here, but there were so very mad guests. I am so thankful AR is potty trained and it wasn't her. :-) I am pretty sure some parents were on the hunt for the pooper!
